Just read a recent posting on the online newsletter, The Rundown AI, about AI and Gemini Live, coming to the Pixel 10--to start. This virtual assistant can use your camera and audio to detect the world around you and assist you. It can help you solve problems, like deciding what ingredients go best with the food you want to cook, to what pair of sneakers on the store shelf suits the outfit you're wearing! I like the idea that you can aim your camera at a plant, flower, bug, whatever it is, and ask the assistant to identify it for you. No more signing up and paying monthly for a plant app.
Gemini can talk to your Google Calendar and set appointments for you, set reminders in Google Tasks, and it can write up a grocery list while you're brainstorming a recipe. Soon, they will add the phone and clock apps as well to Gemini and you'll be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
This new tech is hitting the shelves on August 28th for Google Pixel phones, then other android devices the following days, and a few weeks later, iOs devices.
For those in the GenX group, we'd say, "Awesome!" For those in the GenZ, you'd say, "this is so clutch!" Whatever group you land in, this new AI tech is going to make us wonder how we ever did without it!
