GenX and the Tech World

I'm a Gen X-er. šŸ˜Ž My childhood was in the analog world. šŸ“½ļø As I grew up, I witnessed first, the birth of the personal home computer, and then the cell phone. šŸ“± I have this unusual mix of appreciating the old-school way of life of paper maps and paperback books, while simultaneously embracing Google search for phone numbers and using the app Google Maps, to give me verbal directions while driving in an unfamiliar area of a city. With computers, there are some features I understand easily, while with other applications, I struggle deeply with and feel old, when what I am working with makes little or no sense, and I want to beat my head against a wall. šŸ˜µā€šŸ’«Ā

Despite this, I keep going, and I face the challenges of this constant changing world of technology. Every day, I learn something new about AI. I keep chanting to myself, "I can do this." Some things I may be slow to pick up on, but once I have an understanding of the technology, I can stand up to the crowd and be heard. 🤩

šŸ–„ļø Starting this digital marketing company is a new challenge that I am facing head-on, to succeed in this new technological world. I know that my skills in as an artist and a writer offers a creativity that is a solid asset to digital marketing. I understand human nature and behaviour, and what motivates people. As an educator, I am excellent at communicating in a way that engages and excites. 🧨 šŸŽ‰Ā

If you are a Gen X-er like me, and struggle with technology, I feel your pain. I get it. It's either cling to the train or get left in the ditch, in this new world. I might sometimes find my fingers clinging to the railing on the last car of the train, with my legs flying out behind me, but I eventually pull myself up onto that deck, safely on board, and smile, because I did it. Despite the challenges, I succeeded. 🤠 Have faith, my friends, and keep going!

Keep Going!
Keep Going!
